What is a PP Mooring Rope?

Polypropylene (PP) mooring ropes are a critical component in the marine and shipping industry. Manufactured using high-quality UV-stabilized polypropylene fibers, these ropes provide an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. They are specifically engineered to secure vessels to docks, ports, or other ships safely.

As a leading industrial rope manufacturer in India, UTS CORDEX LLP designs these ropes to float on water (zero water absorption), making them highly visible and easy to retrieve for dockworkers and sailors. Our ropes are certified and tested to perform flawlessly under the extreme stress of ocean tides, harsh chemicals, and heavy cargo loads.

How is it Made?

At UTS CORDEX LLP's advanced manufacturing facility, we extrude premium-grade virgin polypropylene resin into high-tenacity yarns. These yarns are then twisted into strands and braided using state-of-the-art European machinery.

Quality Control & Testing: Every batch undergoes rigorous load-testing on our computerized tensile testing machines. We ensure that the Minimum Breaking Load (MBL) strictly adheres to international maritime standards (such as DNV GL and ISO). Our ropes are then securely packed in standard 220-meter coils, with custom packaging and private labeling available for export markets.

Why is PP Rope preferred for marine mooring?

PP rope has a specific gravity of 0.91, meaning it floats on water. It is incredibly strong, does not absorb water (which would make it heavy and prone to rotting), and is highly resistant to marine growth and salt water corrosion.
